It doesn't seem fair that so many of our classmates died way to soon.  Linda you will be missed.

Linda Kay Geyer, 57, of Hiawatha, died Friday evening, January 7, 2011, at her home.

Linda was born at Horton, March 1, 1953, one of three children born to Alvin and Jane Clarke Legler. Linda was a graduate of Highland Park High School of Topeka. She was an avid softball player, both as a kid, and with the ladies league. She worked for Harris Radio when their team went to the US Slo-Pitch Softball Championship in Memphis, Tenn., where the team came in second.

Linda enjoyed sail boarding, fishing in the ocean and backwaters of the east coast of Florida, knitting, and loved assembling jig saw puzzles.

She was of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include her companion and mate of seven years Jerome Avery of the home; her parents Alvin and Jane Legler of Hiawatha; two children Heather Jessica Geyer, Tara Marie Geyer; step-daughter Sarennah Avery; a brother Gary T. Legler of Hiawatha; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; and a brother Donald E. Legler.
