Michael J. Akins, 70, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at a Topeka care facility. He was born December 13, 1952 in Topeka, the son of Foy and Lillian (Patterson) Akins, Sr.

Michael graduated from Highland Park High School. He was employed briefly as a Nurse’s Aide for KNI. Michael was a handyman and would do jobs for anyone needing his help. He was a member of St. Luke’s Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his siblings, Saundra L. Harding of Topeka, Wanda L. Akins-Gregory of Denver, Colorado, Leland E. Akins of Duncanville, Texas, Clyde W. Akins of DeSoto, Texas, Juanita J. Akins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a host of extended family and friends.
