William Eugene Newman at the age of 71, after suffering from numerous health issues was heartbreakingly removed from life support and passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 while at the Stormont Vail Hospital.
William's early life started off with uncertainty, but through God's timing he was adopted and loved by William H. and Ruby L. Newman in Topeka, KS and raised in the Pierce Addition neighborhood.
He graduated from Highland Park High School. He was a man that could tell a story that included tall tales but also words of love and wisdom.
He married his queen Nancy Christina Fisher on October 24, 1975. They celebrated 33 ½ years of a wonderful loving and beautiful marriage before her passing on March 15, 2008.
Genie's love for his wife was forever eternal and the loss he felt after losing her was equally matched. His heart was never the same
Eugene was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.
He was an avid huntsman, fisherman, motorcycle riding, gun loving, western watching, Star Wars reciting, Star Trek inspired man.
Early hidden talents revealed being classically trained on the piano, learning Brahms, Beethoven and Bach and showcasing these talents playing for his church.
Willie worked for the Kansas Highway Patrol and the USPS Mail Distribution Center (MDC) where he retired after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Nancy Fisher-Newman, their infant daughter – Joelle Christina Newman, and his parents.
William leaves behind to cherish his memory 2 daughters – Jenice Newman and Jennifer Newman both of Topeka. A sister Deborah "Sugar" Jones of Monrovia, CA. and a host of other relatives and friends.
