A couple of years after graduating I went to work for Josten's American Yearbook Company. They transferred me to their Winnipeg (Canada) office to help start a photographic department. I spent a couple of years there then decided to pursue a career as a photographer. So, I took a job at a studio in Lethbridge, Alberta. I loved the work, but quickly realized that unless you own the studio, you don't make any money at all.
After about five years as a photographer I decided to return to the US to study computer programming. I attended ECPI in Topeka and graduated at the top of my class. My first job in IT was with Payless Shoes (then Volume Shoe Corp.) I programmed for nine years then went to work for Computer Task Group in Kansas City as a computer consultant. I stayed with them for about 12 years moving from the KC office to the Denver office. My family and I lived in Colorado Springs and I worked in Denver. The reason for that was I was studying music at Nazarene Bible College in the Springs. We stayed in the Springs for about eight years then moved to North Carolina. I had several contracts as a consultant in the Raleigh area then finally settled down at the State of North Carolina in the Department of Health and Human Services. It is there that I work today as a Business / Systems Analyst. Hope to stay there till I retire.
